We will run a few limited number of combo trips when we feel the best bite will take place from our 20 plus years fishing the Rips around the new and full moons in November which offers the hardest running tides and the best striper fishing. These trips will offer the chance to bucktail, eel or fish with live spots and could produce some really fun fishing although many of the fish will be throwbacks or generally smaller than what you catch bunker chunking up the bay. In my opinion these smaller stripers are much better eating overall and can be a ball when using the right tackle. We will then move up the bay and spend at least 5-6 hours bunker chunking for the trophy size ones which could be well over 40 lbs and even if you are really lucky a once in a lifetime cow over 50 lbs but most will be in the 15-40 lb range. As I have mentioned in another post about discounted preseason rates if a striper is released alive on our boat we will gladly knock off $100.00 for the trip as we believe in limiting how many female breeders we kill but it is always up to the charter how many they keep up the legal limit. These trips will be around 10 hours and should provide some great striper action on fish of all sizes for those that love fall striper fishing on one of the nicest charter boats on the entire East Coast.
