Barnegate 10/15 Afternoon trip

Should have been there yesterday. Actually Monday. That was the report over the radio today. A good bite on the troll on monday and a decent pick on tuesday and of course by wednesday it was over. We had bunker all over with nothing around em. There were some blues around in the morning. My neighbor had a couple keepers trolling on tuesday so I would tend to believe the reports.

Hit it at first light. Looked around for about a half before we found a HUGE flock of birds. We were probably the 5 th boat on the fish. 30 more boats in the next 15 min. Bass with blues mixed in for the next 45 minutes. Managed 1 keeper bass with another short and a couple of big blues. My fishing partner today had a short bass & lost a definate keeper as he came out of the water and spit the hook also a few blues and 1 seagull.
They birds boke up as the fish were put down from the boats runnin & gunnin.

What were you using in the birds.
I'm assuming you were jigging......but what type of lure?

My hook-up's came on a hopkins with a while tube tail. The stomach contents was a bunch of spearing.

I was at a wedding in Pittsburg....trust me I wanted to be fishing & missed the phillies game to boot. If there is fish in the rips... I'll be there.:thumbsup:

I was out Monday, 3 keeper bass immediately under the birds(2 @32"-34" and 1 @ 29"), was 3rd or 4th boat on them, then the boats swarmed in right over the fish, bass vanished but plenty of blues, Tuesday nothing but blues for me. Diamond jigs w/ green tube and white bucktails.
