Went out this morning with "Lou The J##" looking for birdplay. Hit OC, Longport, Margate, Ventnor, AC. Nuthin! COLD! COLD! COLD! I was willing to go up to LBI but "LTJ" was whining so we went in.

I got in and had to drive my daughter to swim practice at ACHS. After dropping here off I figured I'd jump on the Parkway and drive up to LBI and take look and see what I was missing.

I get up there go right up to the beach and I see about a mile of birdplay with just a few boats on them! :yahooo:Back to the car and speed back to Margate. I call "LTJ" and tell him "I told you so!"

It's now 11am. I have a appointment at 4:15 to show a house in MaysLanding. So do I have time to drive back to Margate, get in the boat ride up to LBI, Fish, ride back to Margate, Go home get cleaned up drive 25 minutes to Mays Landing by 4:15?!?!? Only a real psyco would try this. But I did!

Anway, got up to LBI found birds, not to hot or steady, but managed a few short bass and one blue. Then turned around headed home. And still got to the appointment by 4:15!

Hope it's nice tomorrow!

And I was dull enough to fish the surf today.... reminding myself once more that the only thing that fishing gloves with no fingertips are good for is getting frostbite on the fingertips.... it was freakin brutal, and Tommy... yer nuts!

Thats the beauty of the kayak. If you had one strapped on the roof you would have been on it after the first sighting of birdplay.

Barrel you r right. But yesterday might have been tough to get in with that wind. But I will keep in mind. Brutus I will keep that rate in mind. Today only had to run a few miles and got sporatic bird play, lot's of shorts and a couple of keepers. The yahoos were out. Really heavy handed on the throttles around birds and fish.

We saw you out in the morning and then back and by the time we showed back up you were gone again!

We should have stayed tied to the dock - we didnt do jack out there.

Tom,
Seems like we all pretty much did the same thing today. Run around looking for birds and burning fuel. Although it's never ideal, I think that makes for the fun.
In my mind, it's just like finding the perfect wave - it ain't ever perfect.
Good to hear from you. See you on/in the water.
