Opps meant to type 11-23-08. Can a moderator edit this for me PLEASE?!! Thanks.

We had a stellar crew onboard yesterday consisting of Pop Mc, and barn members mcc, HookedUp14, and New 2 Tuna and myself. Well I must say that this was the best bite for us in the past few years!!

The original plan was to chunk the bay but with the never ending NW wind blowing through the area and 15-20 out of the West predicted for Sunday we opted to head out front and try and put a catch together. Figuring the rips would have been all tore up we headed up the beach and found the gannets dive bombing off the beach in 25 feet. We first tried bucktails and jigs but couldn't get close enough to the birds to jig them so we figured that trolling this area would be very effective and sure enough it was!! There are loads of adult bunker moving down the beach right now and the bass are on them and decent sized.

We pulled a 4 rod spread consisting of 2 stretch 25's about 150 feet back and 2 custom rigged shad dredges in black/pearl and chartreuse/white in tight to the transom at 3.1 knots. Everything caught fish! It was sheer insanity with 2 fish at a time on the dredge and plenty of double headers to keep everyone busy until the limit came at 11:50 a.m.. All fish ranged from around legal size to about 38 inches. The funny thing was the bigger fish seemed to show up after we went into catch and release mode but we have no problem with that! Wanted to thank the crew for working hard and clearing lines, netting, gaffing, bleeding, and icing fish and keeping the pit in order. ;)

The best depth we found was 20-25 feet and the water temp was 47.5 and clarity was good. No bluefish were around today and I didn't have to replace any shads all day. :D

Short week this week so we will be at it again at the latter part of the week. Here are some pics from our day for your viewing pleasure.

Nice Gary, the closest I came to stripers was watching them swim in a tank at the Baltimore Inner Harbor Aquarium. They had a few keepers in the tank too.

Thanks fellas. I think it may be over for the bay. Plus trolling/jigging these fish is 10 times more fun in my eyes.

Yeah man! The last time I was there, there were only slot fish in that tank. It's very hard to sit there and watch them and not be able to catch them. You think the aquarium workers are bucktailing those tanks at night? hahahaha
