Hey guys!
We tried to beat the incoming bad weather today, and we did for a little while. Fishing with Joe, Bill, Rick, Frank, and Mark, we ventured out around 8:30am to fish the flood tide. We had real nice conditions for about an hour, and we got right on the bass. The tide was slack on arrival, but when we had the first trickle, rods were bending. We had several drifts before the wind and rain came on, and we picked up fish each drift. Around 10am, the wind decided to start honking pretty good and the rain came down hard at times. With the strong tide, the drift was pretty fast. We toughed it out, and picked a fish here and there. Finally, around 11:45am, we found a spot with a few hungry fish and picked a fish or two per drift until we decided to call it a day just after noon when the rain was coming down in sheets and a bit "horizontally."
Although it wasn't super good, we did get well over 20 bites today, and managed to 14 bass to 27.5" on deck in less than good conditions.
Thanks for fishing hard guys! I hope you've dried out by now! :D :)
