Bought new boat too late in spring to get in on Flats Fishing last year. I'm looking for some info on tackle shops or just plain info so I'm ready to do some Flats fishing this spring. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

For Flats fishing, you want to go to Herb's in North East, MD. Any gear you need, plus the most up to date info! From the intersection of RT 40 and Rt 273, take 273 right into town, it becomes a one way street and Herb's is on the right, you can't miss it. This time of year they aren't open all the time, give them a call first, 410-287-5490.

+1 on Herb's Tackle
Respectfully do not ask for specific locations, but they will hook you up with plenty of good info.

There really is no other tackle shop but Herb's when it comes to fishing the Flats.

I think you mean Rt.272. 273 doesn't cross 40 in North East.

9 degrees this morning and I can't wait to get started this spring! I will be able to start with this fishery before things get started on home turf, Sandy Hook/Raritan Bay. Thanks again for the info! Sea Devil, I'll shoot you an e-mail when I get the chance. Wouldn't mind hooking up with someone.

What Capt Ed said. Elle and Mike Benjamin will have the latest intel and all the gear you'll need.
Early fresh live or dead herring can't be beat. As the water warms, youll start getting bass on artificials.
At the present time, I am closed. I will be reopening about the middle of February. It won't be long now!
If there is something you must have before we reopen, most of the time, you can go through the barber shop and Capt. Mike will get what you need.
I will also be having a Bass Assassin sale starting about the time I reopen. Details to follow.
Thanks to eveyone for recommending Herb's.

Herbs is a great place, here else can you go get a haircut talk fishing all through it then go buy some tackle. Talk to Mike and Ele for awhile then walk 2 blocks to Woddies and have a few beers and a good meal.

Ele, Make sure you let us know when you open. I'm going to make a couple of runs down from Jersey to get all the details worked out (ramp, tackle, etc.) Once again, thanks for all the info!
