Last fall I did fairly well trolling stripers out front of LBI. Looking to try the same tis spring. Looking for information as to when this should start up here. Am I looking at a April window May? The trrolling thing is new to me would I use the same rigs as I did in the fall? Pulled 9er umbrella shad rigs and bunker spoons. Only managed blue fish on the bunker spoons?

I am not about that area. What I would do is watch the water temps when it hits the high 40's would be a good time to start.

9'ers are great, bunker spoons are alittle more involved. do a search on fishing them... you will ,learn alot about the proper rods, weight, tuning, etc.

With the bunker spoons if you are using wire line.try slowing down a bit ,watch your rod tip it should be bending down then rising that makes the spoon work. The rod should have a soft tip .like the seeker bunker spoon rod. google wire line trolling there are some good sites to read up on.IMO these fish move around alot but I had a good day by seaside 50ft. water on bunker spoons, during May of last year. But timing is everything, one week or even a day will make a difference.

i fish that area every spring and fall. i getter better action on spoons in the spring although the umbrellas still work. the chesepeak bay rig worked really well last spring too. early may is the time to start. im not saying you wont catch fish in april, it all depends on the water temp really. good luck, ill seaa ya out there!
