Up and down day today. Morning trip with Paul Spirit and his buddy Steve featured a little bit of catching with maybe 15 or so fish caught. Our big fish of the morning, and I mean big fish . . . broke off. Damn shame we didn't get it to the boat, because none of our other fish were picture worthy. Couple of good guys and good fishermen. We were just limited to a small area that was holding fish and once the fleet found it, not much bite was left to be had.
Afternoon trip was a solo with Chris Davis. Even slower. I think we got four fish, just happened though to come across a real good one. The fish measured 45 inches and was nice and fat. The fight was an extended one on 10 lb test, and quite memorable. Man talk about one fish making your day. Caught her in 4 foot of water on a Crystal Minnow.
Beautiful day on the water. Talk to lots of folks out there and enjoyed the day. Wish the action was a little faster, but can't complain about boating that one whopper.
