Tried again friday with no luck :nuts: Had Cmpstriper with me we tried topwaters for a couple hrs then met cuttswingmatt handed off some herring to him figured i would anchor up and chunk ... well 2 hrs later pulled the hook and headed in had to work in th evening :(


not sure maybe wed and then sunday if i can get out ..strange year this one has been ..

Was there also with the same results. Stripers have other things on their minds. We fished all over the flats, top water, BAs and even tried fresh herring NADA. It definitely been hit or miss this years. Small fleet of boats were on schoolies but that's not why I'm there. Saw a few of the guides intermixed with fleet also some long rodders. Had my flyrod with me but didn't take it out. Southwinds pushed fish to northeast side, water temps around 60 in spots, clarity was not that good. Had one good swirl at the boat. Maybe next week.

I had 4 little ones, 2 on a 17 Tony and 2 on a rattlin spot. Threw flies for 2 hours, not a touch. It has been a strange year. It's almost over and never really got started.

My brother nate and I hammered at them for 15 solid hours on Friday and finally through the skunk on the boat as the sun set. Just one rat for all that work. If we had been fishing channel cats though it would have been a banner day - 8 to 10 lbs. on BA's. Anyway - I'll be back at them next Saturday morning hope to see you out there.
