Started trolling the Old CC station at 6am no takers until 6:30 boated a 36lb bass on my #4 solid green spoon caught 3 more in the high 20's and back at the dock at 10am.My friend Dave on the Fishing Mission stayed out later and boated 6 bass up to 38lbs on the solid green also.He trolled around a huge school of bunker further south.

Thanks. I'm new to fishing the area, trying to get an idea of where people go. What depth were you trolling at?

Tony we were out there also we saw some whales close in to the beach. I went on my friends crusier lots on bells and whistles.no fishing room .Had to fish on the dive platform.seven big bass 3 came on your white mid size and 1 on the chartruse.the rest on an old will -arm chrome.only one blue.I tried to get you on the radio.I would tell more but it might get edited.I am tired these fish are too big for a old man like me.I hope to get out and try around Sandy Hook in the next week.I will post my report .Good luck and best of health.

Hey Hammerhead, you had a great day but why go back to the Hook when we have this great fishing down here.I spoke to a couple of guides up north and they are struggling to have 2 good days in a row.It seems as though the bite is from Shark River To IBSP.I thought I would be dissapointed moving from Staten Island to Bayville but boy was I wrong. This is better than the old days when we fished outside of the highlands.

I do agree Tone.but my boat is in the Highlands. My friend lives in Green Island .Brought my equipment Rods, net, etc.I never saw so many pods of bait.We were snagging the bunker on the bunker spoons. Now that I am retired every day is a Sat.
