Two of the bass I had caught this week were tagged. The 1st one looked like a pink sticking out from its side. The 2nd one is a yellow band that went thru his tail. The writing on it is hard to read but this is what I've found RETURN TO RAL SOC HIGHLAND. Is anyone familiar with these?

I believe they were tagging bass and were offering money rewards for returned bands....(no sarcasim, i'll look up the info and post link)

Its a good thing...
Sometimes a reward goes with turning a tag in....?

Check the internet out -
See if you can locate the origin - or the original tagging group/person.

the yellow tag is an American Littoral society tag....here is the website how to return the information

Not sure on the pink tag...Post the number of yellow tag as a few of us on here tag for the Littoral society and it might be one of ours...

pink tag in the belly usually belong to US Wildlife and there is a token reward
yellow tag is ALS American Littoral Society
if you can give me the number I can tell you if is mine otherwise sent it to

Yea I tag them when I catch them behind sic/avalon. It helps out learning about the fish and there habits. Make sure you mail it in and they will send you info on who tagged it and the size, etc.
