Broke the inlet around six and found plenty of bunker, put about 20 or so swimmers in the live well and went on the hunt. Made several drifts but the south winds brought water temps down and the bass obviously developed a serious case of lockjaw. Gave the crew the option to go and do some wreck fishing with the promise that if things started to heat up with the bass we would get back in the game. Our first stop was drop and reel fishing however it was a three to one ratio of keepers to shorts, made three more drops with similar results, ended the day with a goose egg on the stripers but twenty some scrumptious Sea Bass will see the grease. We also released a couple of nice Blackfish.

Just a quick note, guys… if someone is on a wreck move to another piece, don’t try to squeeze in. I double anchor with 600 ft of anchor line on almost everything and can make huge adjustments. :argue:Also you tangling your grapple in my anchor line only wastes both our time.

We will be back at it tomorrow, hope the bass fishing improves!

How's it going Capt. Ken. The guy I usually go fishin' with went with his brother's for the opening of fluke out of squan. He said the water was a bit to cold not even a touch. So he went to a nearby Reef and did well on Seabass. p.s. WE went north last week to the Scotland area for ling and there were other boats around we kept away from everybody found a nice little patch to fish on and it was drop and reel. Then a PARTY BOAT pulls up and anchors about 20' from us. I'm sure if we did that to him, he'd be foaming out the mouth. There's a whole ocean out there SPREAD OUT!! MO CROW OUT!!!!
