Fished the bunker pods early morning 6/28 in Monmoutn county. Could not buy a bite in 2 hrs. We decided to move to 55 feet of water. I said we would troll for an hour. At 55 minutes, Zing!!!!!!!!!!
A nice big 47.5 lber on the boga. He was hooked in the lip, no blood and it made for a sweet release.

The bunker were as thick as i have seen them all season. There were places where my sounder was lit up from the surface, down to the bottom
With good sunlasses you can see them right below the surface. However, we could not buy a hit out of that, nor did we really see anyone else score either. The bunker were so thick that we snagged them while we were trolling.

Nice job Mike we got the skunk on Bass yesterday. Found bunker ans had some spraying but no takes. We set up on some makes were fish were spraying and that netted us a smooth dog but that's it. We tryed trolling but got nothing. From BI to Bathing beach was a desert.

Don: I know what you mean, it was not great in Monmouth county either. I think we just got lucky and found a lone stragller.

It is in the shop AGAIN!! Same problem, filters clogging and running like crap. Mechanic thinks I should either try draining dank and having it cleaned professionaly or put in a new fuel tank, he thinks there is a build up of ethanol in tank. I'm pretty distraught about it, I really try to stay on top of maintenance and repairs and this happens constantly. Definately don't want to cut up deck for new tank, but I have to do something, happens couple times a year and each time it is a pain in the #$# and expensive. Hopefully I get it back today, if I do, i'm going out tomorrow. Let me know if you are going to be out there.

Yeah, same with us. There was never a full hundred yards of water that did not have a pod of bunker in it. I think this may have contributed to our problem as the sheer amountof bait in the water made it hard for the fish to find our baits:huh: We did see a guy land a nice 20-25lber just outside of the shark River inlet on a bunker.

Was that guy in a red Steigercraft???? We saw a guy land a nice fish right out in front of SRI. H also had a little kid on board who was reeling the fish for awhile. Pretty cool

Tony, you probably don't remember, but I spoke with you at the Somerset show.
I had questions about your outrodders. They were given to me as a Xmas present, and I had some questions. Mainly I was concerned that the tube of the outrodder seemed short in relation to the butt of the rod. You told me not to worry and answered a few other questions and also told me not to worry about the pin, you told me it was not needed, especially for using them for mudhole tuna.
