Well I haven't done any this year but here is my first. Left the inlet by the light house late around 2:30 and went north found some bunker but the water was loaded with trash. Plastic bag to large hunks of wood. Very little marks on the bottom. Saw some fish spraying but got to them and showed a few marks on the bottom, but ended up with a smooth dog to show for it. Tried trolling noting no marks from 20' out to 60' couldn't even find a blue. Gave up after 4 hours. Ran into the bay looking for Weakies but water looked like chocolate milk lost a blue at the boat and ended up calling it a day. Was one of the worse day's fishing wise this year. Water was really nasty with trash.

I noticed the garbage as well. What I saw was mostly chunks of wood.

Same in Monmouth county yesterday.
however, i just got back from Bay Head with the dogs, and the water looks much better. There is also a ton of small blues in the surf.

Similar report for me on sat...fished from the inlet to about 20 miles north, ton of bait but no fish. Bait was getting pushed all day though. Called it a day about 1pm. Heard it turned on later in the afternoon.
Yesterday along the beach in Surf City noticed a ton of garbage and wood washing up. Really pissed me off. Anyone know the cause?

It could of been from the new moon tides last week.. I know on Thursday and Friday they were unbelievably high and could of dislodged some trash debris etc.

found the same thing saturday evenning in front of bathing beach, miles of trash and debris, with no bunker, we'd put the spoons in and caught a rope, a plastic bad and something that my daughter thought was an octopus. It was a tangled mess of some sort of sand bags or something. lots of porpoises, so young Katie enjoyed that. Next morning (Sunday) at daybreak, water was clear of debris and seemingly fish. BI north to the ferris wheel and back, 1 pod with nothing underneath and no concentration and a bunch of 1 lb blue fish. under birds. water temp was 71.
