the pigs eat everything in site- the nuts are all gone, they tag team whacked a blue claw crab last night by eating it and spitting it until they got the claws off and i feel sorry for any spot coming to that light. I have to set up another hg on the other side of our spot if i wanna catch bait.

"Man has found a new best friend"
...that is just nuts  ...Does anyone else feed resident Stripers like that? For years, I get bass by my docklight(not a HydroGlow), and they, in no way, will ever act so unalarmed and aggressive like that video. I've tried feeding, but they never respond like the vid.
...Next, I want to see hand feeding... like they do in SeaWorld ;)

Actually insomniac got his fingers sandpapered by one of the larger bass in the first second of vid two it was pretty funny. They are eating out of peoples hands now, they just don't know where the clam ends and the finger starts:). Thank god they don't have teeth. I'm not nearly as brave as Dan though. I just let my piece of clam go when they go topwater.

Next time you go to Vegas, take a side trip to Lake Mead and visit the marina there.
You can buy popcorn at the marina store and throw it off the dock to dozens of huge Striped Bass who have been conditioned to hang around the docks waiting to gulp the floating popcorn off the surface of the water.
Anyone know how to tie a popcorn imitating fly?

Very cool, years ago, maybe 5 or 6 we were at a concert down on Penns Landing & I accidentally knocked over some popcorn, there was a blitz of fish right on the wall of the landing, big fish, they WERE NOT catfish or carp, they were stripers.....decent sized ones too. I have always thought about a bag of Orville on the boat as a spare backup bait.....:thumbsup:

Great Vids...reminds me of Robbies Marina in Islamorada where you can hand feed the tarpon...

We usually have a bag of popcorn w us in the fall to get the birds stirred up. I wonder what the stripers think it is. I doubt they get any nutrition out of it considering their diet.

i have done the exact same thing off my uncles dock. we have fed 30 pound stripers right out of our hands like robbies feed the tarpon. it is incredible they also will feed during the day if you clean a fish or throw bait. it is amazing. just have to make sure the neighbors dont find out because then i will have fishermen lined up on the dock:)

Discovery channel had a program about Maine commercial lobstering. It showed the lobstermen tossing the shorts into the water, and every one was eaten by a striper almost immediatly.

ah then your uncle is the same guy who i have heard stories about. very cool! Let him know that word got around the island about a guy who feeds tuna leftovers to bass by hand. I assume thats him. I get the biggest kick out of little kids when they watch them. First question is always " can we catch one?" in fact thats everyones first question. :)
