Just wanted to let everyone know that this year we will be carrying surf clams. Keep us in mind when the gnats start biting, and you are getting the itch (the drum itch). To reserve clams, just give us a call here at 856-785-7001.

I've never seen surf clams in the Maurice River - you have a secret spot or something?

Thanks for the heads up. Found myself running to Cape May last year.

I've found fresh water clams in the Maurice river system as far up as Scotland Run (between Malaga Lake and Willow Grove Lake) smile.gif

Those fresh water clams are all over the place.
We get them in our Haul seine every winter.
To bad they don't taste the same, not to mention you are not allowed to keep them anyway.

M-ville,

Why aren't you allowed to keep the "fresh water" clams? I have seen people using them for bait!!

mudcat,
Never seen anyone use them for bait, but with that said;
There is no open season on fresh water clams in NJ. You can not have them in your possession.

This is according to the NJ FGW.
