Silent A

Stopped at Bayway yesterday in between some visits and it was quite an eerie feeling. The wind was howling, the docks empty and the boats covered. I walked down the ramp to my slip and other than the activity of the ducks and geese it was very still.
My excitement for the day was my Viszla scenting the ducks and leaping into the cold water after them. He swam after a goose with the wise old bird letting him within about five feet while she took him between AA and C dock about three times. Poor dog started barking like a beagle because of being so close, but frustrated at not being able to catch the bird. You can only imagine the mess when he finally gave up and came up the bank at low tide chest deep in black muck. I had to flip him back in the cold water on the dock to partially clean him. Thank God for rubber matting in the back of the Expedition.
Stopped at the office and was told that there will be changes on D dock and more slips on the Rt 47 side of the marina. They need to get permits to do a bulkhead. The marina just keeps getting better since Tom bought it a few years ago.
Stopped at Reeds beach and it was just as quiet with only a couple of people walking dogs. The water was so dirty that I thought that there was an oil spill but the rough surf and low tide just made it almost black.
After two boat shows, rod and reel cleaning, a trip to Fisherman's headquarters, I'm ready to get the cover off the boat and get the bass season going. Come on Spring!!!!
