For the past several years I have been using a 7' Ugly Stick Model # BWS 1101 medium action rod, my reel is a Penn 4500 SS loaded with 20-30# braid, a three foot Seagar floro leader. The lines are attached together by a 60# barrel swivel.
Although, I have not caught any real slobs, I have had alot of pleasure handleing the smaller guys without just horsing them in, and even alot more excitement with some of the bigger fish. This outfit has worked for me live lining eels, spot and other live baits, it has also worked for chunking clam bellies, and has proven it's weight in gold when Bucktailing. I can say, I have never had a fish lost because of tackle failure or line breakage. Now, fish lost due to some of my own dumb actions, is another story. I will not mention those and embarrass myself or provide ammunition to any one to abuse me.
Just interested in what other guys/gals use?

Chunking/livelining: 6'6" custom 15-40 weight spinning rod made by BullsEyeRods (http://www.bullseyerods.com/). It is an awesome rod because it is heavy enough to easily cast a 3-6 ounze weight or big bunker, yet it is not at all overkill to make the fight a lot of fun. As far as a reel goes I like the Penn Captiva Liveliners (CLL6000 or 5000) spooled up with 30-50# braid.
Bucktailing: I love tha action of the Shimano Trevala Rods. They are so light, yet have a perfect backbone to tackle a bass well over the 30 mark. Due to the light weight, you can have one in your hand all day like it's nothing. I love the Fin-Nor Ahab for a spinning rod, and for conventionals I like the Shimano Calcutta and also the AVET SX (super smooth reel, and worth the money). Again, 30-50# braided line.

I have a few different setups. If using small lures in the backway I use a 6'6" medium action shimano convergence (although I recently broke it) with a okuma reel(forget the model, 10ball bearings) 20lb power pro.
For drifting spot I use a 6' extra heavy Shimano Convergence Muskie rod. It is rated for 1-5oz lures, and 20-50lb line. I have an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur spooled with 30lb power pro.
For the surf I use a cheap 7' All star medium heavy rod along with an okuma epixor baitfeeder spooled with 30lb power pro.

Thanks for the feedback. I am familiar with some of the rigs that you all use. I intend to lookinto the others to put together one or two backup rigs. The wife don't understand why I need more than one, "but you can never have TOO much tackle" Thanks folks.
