I figured by wed. the water should be calmed down. Weather channel showing 2knot North winds. Gonna give it a try at Adsecon inlet and bay, in the morning. Question is: what bait to try? All my stripers always came on eels, but sounds like spot is the hot ticket. Don't have a livewell, so thinking eels, clam, or bunker chunks. Any thoughts?

Just buy one of them small airator's that you can put in a 5 gallon bucket. They are very cheap and there worth every penny ,you can get them at Walmart . You gotta bring some spot ,they are striper candy .Good luck i hope you kill em' .Post after you go and let me know how you made out .

I was thinking Wed. or Thur., the latter would give it an extra day to settle down.

I'm planning on giving Little Egg Inlet a try on Wednesday also. Will be out there with fresh clam, eels, and maybe a perch or two.

This morning looks better than the weatherman was forcasting so I'm predicting a great trip tomorrow. By wednesday I think that it should be fully engaged. BTW I still have openings on Wednesday and Friday if you just can't wait to get in on the start of the season. It is exploratory time, but at the minimum that guarantees a long trip as we hunt for the hot spots.
As to baits. i'm a believer in SPOT and I have thousands in my tanks to prove it. Eels are still a great after dark bait and if the phosperesence (spelling) doesn't show up that is still the best time to fool the big ones.
Last year I didn't really hit with the GULP until November, but it could have had something to do with the amount of local spot we had in the water. From Mid-November on 7" Jerk Shad and 6" Grubs were as hot as the spot if you fished them carefully. The big benifit of spot is that they fish themselves! I've got all the bait and all the areators right here in the store so there is no need to make another stop.
With the stirred up water I figure the clam bite should turn on real well too. NOW is the time to get out and give it a try.

Hey Dave, howd you do this morning. The spot I bought stayed alive the whole day in that little bucket with the aerator. Thanks for the tips and bait. We anchored up just north of the Brig jetty this morning. You actually started one of your drifts right by us. Unfortunately, we didnt hit anything. We drifted the spot down the inlet and then when the tide changed, we drifted spot back out of the inlet and drifted north along the beach line. Will be down next Tuesday for more spot so see you then.......
