What a banner day fishing the flats. We went to Three Rooker atoll and the bite was slow so we headed to the Spoil Islands and fished the grass flats for Speckeled Trout and they were there in droves. I can only guess but we caught over 100 fish up to 19 inches. Most were small but every now and then a big one was there and do battle.
The weather was 85 degrees and windy,15 miles per hour out of the south and the water temp was 72 degrees.Heard reports on the radio that people were catching keeper Grouper and guess I'll start fishing for them next week.Aww you gotta love it.

Hey Johnny D, if I didn't like ya so much, I'd hate ya!!!!!!! ;)
My dad has been in west palm for the last 4 weeks, they have been doing decent on the snapper & grouper (whenever they can get out with the blow  )

Hey my friends, the reason I come home is to see all my Bassbarn friends. If I never went on the barn, I'd be a Florida resident for sure. Oh yes the fishing is also good up there and the nights are much cooler. tongue.gif
Tom, there is a lot of wind this year but the flats I fish are protected by land and shallow water and I can fish in any condition. Life truly is good.
