Last fall you described the correct rope to use for the Horizon series of windlasses. I tried to search for it, with no luck. Could you repeat the fleck coloring of the rode that finally worked for you. I have the Horizon 400, replaced a gypsy, and currently on my third anchor rope. Where did you "purchase" the rope?

Thanks

Thanks, it's a new season. smile.gif

Nature's own path under water! TI {Townsend Inlet} has nothing but problems because some stupid civil engineer said make it straight!

When I began running out of the Fort in 1977, the return trip was to #2 turn buoy, then 60 degrees to the next can near the end of the jetty. Did nature change it from that? Or was it the inept crew that last dredged the creek that created the dogleg?? Just asking. smile.gif

Do the three words engineer, civil, and stupid belong in the same sentence?? I think they do when that person is in the Corps of Engineers! Isn't that the bunch who can economically justify deepening the river channel without impacting the environment? Oh, thats the DEP's charge. :D

AGAIN...... If the Army Corp are going to put a "Rock Jetty" all the way out to the turn bouy?.... Then why the dog leg???? But you being just a dandy should know? Right? The lack of the right hand knowing what the left foot is doing is usual for the FORT! I'll leave it at that!

The Dog leg was created because of a land grant where the owner of the oyster rights sea bed would not allow a straight line channel, In addition there is a marrell bed (Clay) running thru the sea bed at the dog leg, water takes the path of least resistance! When they hit that area with the dredge the water ran green from the marrell clay bed!
The DEP obtained permission to straight line dredge this time. Mike

Again the laws of science are reinforced. The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. smile.gif Unless Windy or Twin D's argues otherwise. Sorry Phil, from your posts on Homeport Slot thread, I thought it would make you feel more at home here on the D Bay forum. :D

Windy, sounds more like you were sipping with the locals. When the refresments were done, did you awake on a sandbar at the South end of town? How long does that trip take inside that pipe? :D
