We fished the outgoing tide water temps.48.8 degs.
light seas 1-2 ftrs.fished brown shoal ,only big skates on squid minnie combos. We moved to the pin top at noon and caught one keeper flounder and had small bites, we think it was more flounder,we did see a few stripers caught but no stripers for us.
We did have eels but I think clam was the hot bait for the stripers but we only had old clams from last year could not find fresh but I feel if we had fresh we would of had stripers . Most fish we saw and heard being caught were 30+ inches

FRESH PISSER CLAMS ARE AVAILABLE AT HAASE MARINA ON THE MAURICE RIVER. YOU NEED THEM RIGHT NOW UNLESS YOU FISH AROUND # 1 BOUY. WE CAUGHT A 24" FLOUNDER LAST WEEK, AT #1. STAY AWAY FROM THEM UNTIL MAY 8 ON THIS SIDE OF THE BAY. GET SOME CLAMS AND GO HAVE FUN WITH THESE STRIPERS.

We launch from the Delaware side so we can keep flounder. That is also why we could not find fresh clams or frozen .

Jeff,

Nice report. Forget about them flounder! Take the ride over to NJ and pick yourself up some clams and bunker and hit them big stripers.

Side.Next time I will know to stay on the Del. Side to keep my flounder until Jerseys flounder season opens.
Thanks I hope no hard feelings.

Have a great season.

I understand and thanks Capt. Thats why it should be one set of rules for the body of water and not where you launch from or what side of the channel your on.

I have a question for you then?
If I'm on the jersey side what am I allowed to keep as far as stripers , We do not have a slot in Delaware this year both fish have to be 28 or greater.Am I only allowed one fish in Jersey waters then? I'm not fimilar with Jerseys regs this year.

No doubt, but to be safe get the Delaware Regs.

I don't see what the difference would be betwwen stripers and flounder if you are in jersey waters when checked you have to go by jerseys rules then.
But I will call to find out for sure.

Put it this way, when you are in NJ or DE waters, you abide by the rules there. When you land your fish, you abide by the rules there. So in this instance, you could fish in NJ and keep slot stripers but you would be illegal when landing them in DE if they have no slot.

Thanks Twin D's
Thats what I thought,I guess that Del Anglers can only catch 1 legal fish in Jersey And our second fish has to be caught in Del. waters Being we have not slots and 2 fish limit at 28 or greater,
And Jersey still has a slot and a bonus tag which Del. doesn't have. You Jersey boys better be carefull where you land your fish to ,your slots will get you in trouble in Delaware waters then.
