Barners ruled the Bay today! 4/19

Man oh man what a day today !Canyon caster and myself dropped the hook at 7:30 and proceeded to boat 4 stripers ranging from 27 3/4" (what a slot) to 40" 21 lbs. A lot of missed fish mixed in, runoffs with nothing there when you set the hook. And some skates early. Then the tide changed and the action picked up again till we ran out of bait. Whew The backs of my arms ache (what a great feeling :D ) We left um biting at 2:00 I've got striper thumb and fingers smile.gif Andy got striper knees tongue.gif :D What a great opening day and shakedown run. Pictures to follow(I took um all with Andy holding the fish 'cause he makes um look bigger :D ) All on bunker we were in around no 1 14 ft and the Maul(is that non-specific enough Ron? :D ) We only dropped the hook once,it was enough. Great talkin with Partnership,Capt.Lou, Skip, get it wet, MD (Bayman) Heard Seaswirl but I think your radio wasn't pickin up buddy...sorry. Also heard Mega bites (yo Mike today wasn't the day to wax the boat ;) ) Catch um up folks!

Paul, yep, it was a great day to be on the bay. I think we all have a case of striper thumb, :D but that's not a bad thing. :D Good talking to you today & nice job on ther stripes. Crazy you got yours on bunk, and all they would take with us was clam. :confused: You never know. :D

Excellent report. I'm glad to see you and Andy stayed busy with the striped ones. I don't care what these guys say using clam, the stripers are hitting the bunker like a freight train.

Hey Ron,
Why not? Your post got me laughing. I know some people on the board, personally, and ya know what; I think you might be right, however; I also know some really good fishermen that I don't see posting and they might not be aware of the board or even computers. Keep up the really positive attitude. It's contagious. Heck, not just the bay, Barners rule the world! Right on!

Thanks folks,you people have to get out there and get on this before it's over. The fish that were female were spawned out already. That tells me the clock is ticking. As soon as they load up and feel satisfied they'll be back out to head north along with a temp climb (which looks like it is fast upon us now) The good news is MD seen bunker schools on top. That will hold um in while there's a food supply. Also seen alot of snapper blues right around the turn cans and in the outlet of the river. Catchum up!
