Left Bay Point around 7:45 in my comrades boat. Noticed lotsa boats east of the elbow, in the vicinity of the wreck bouy. We gave that area a try. Nothing exciting. A few "shorts". Moved in about a couple miles and had more action. Still, the "throw-back-keeper ratio was as high as the temperature. We must have caught at least 40 flounder and wound up with only 4. The four ranged from 18 1/4 to 19 3/4. The tide was slack around 1:00 PM and the wind was very light. Needless to say our drift was almost nil. We went in shortly after 1:00.

There are decent sized flounder still out there, but their numbers seem to be on the wane. Never the less, if you can get a decent drift, 1 to 2 MPH, you can have very good flounder catching action.

Thanks for the report! I think the fish are on the move and don't like the warm water. This heat is just killing us.:D

Thanks for the report, do you think the warm water temps are pushing them deeper or out front?

We decided to make a run out front to C.M. Reef instead of runnig up the bay yest figuring they were movin out. We didn't get 1 flounder just a bunch of sea bass n only 1 keeper. Tried a drift in the rips with no luck. We then decided to run up by 1 to try to get a flounder before we had to quit or storm came in and that was a good call. 3 drifts we got 5 n only 1 kept. Nice 23" 4 n half pounder in 14 ft.
Was totaly opposite of what i thought would happen.I figured for sure with these temps Flounder would be more movin out front, but that wasn't case.1 other boat we know was up the bay n did well yest too so??
