What shape is the intercoastal in the trip from Absecon Inlet to Great Egg Inlet. I have not been through there in years and did it in a small boat.
I draw just shy of 4' and from what I recall, it was tricky back then. Should I risk it? High tide only? Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks
high tide is always easiest, and there are some relatively narrow spots at low, but I don't recall a single area that can't handle 4' in that entire stretch.

Rob,
Normally I would go out and come in via Great Egg however, since reading the article in the AC Press and having not passed through Great Egg since the 80's I think I will take a nice leasurely drive along the intercoastal.
Thanks,
Frank
figured that was the case :D

I traveled that stretch yesterday and saw two, very large (50+), Vikings flying back to Viking Marina from AC.

They are dredging the ICW behind OC from the 34st bridge north (there is extra no-wake so its a slow trip). From 34th street south to Corsons its fine. I havn't had any problem getting out of GE. You can get out pretty easy through Corsons now too, especially at high tide.

ok, I guess I will take a shot at the intercoastal. Thanks for the input!
