Would like to do a seminar.

Sometime this spring I would like to do a seminar at our shop. Strictly on the float rig. If you guys have seen some of the pics SteveO has posted you know how deadly this rig can be for gamefish.

It's a great rig but you do need to do a little fine tuning to make it work just right. Been fishing this rig for years and figured out most of the problems. had to make a few changes to it but as of now it's one of my all time favorite rigs for flounder and other gamefish. Ever had windy days where drifting was almost impossible or wanted to fish the shallow flats but make too much noise then this is the rig.

Want to see when opening day will be and try to plan it just prior to that. It will be on a weekend and free of charge. Will keep you posted.

It's a sliding float rig. Have to make a few modifications to it but then it's deadly. This is how we package them.

Both rigs are my favorite. When I'm running the motor for controled drifting it's the dropper loop rig. When it's windy and I'm anchored or fishing quiet in shallow water it's the float rig. Still somthing special when you see the float vanish under the surface.

Count me in. Tried the float rig this past summer. Great when I was stranded on land. However, i am sure there is a ton I can learn about tuning it, building it, and applying it. I found it difficult to dial in the depth I needed to get the minnow into the strike zone.

This would be a weekend event when the weather is a little nicer out. We can talk about a lot of things but I want to concentrate on the float rig. It's allowed me to fine tune my fishing where other methods just don't work well. Make a drift along a dock. You just know that some decent fish are using it to set up an ambush. Trouble is you can't get real close to the dock and casting isn't the best choice either. You end uo just pulling your offering awsay from the structure. With the float rig you can put your bait right up agains the dock and let it drift the entire length. hard bottom with a lot of snags but holds fish. Then let the float hold the bait just above all the problems. Fish aren't on the feed. Then let the float dangle the bait just above them and hold it in the area for a longer period and watch how fish will go BIGGESTJACK on it. Fun rig and effective on days when other methods just don't seem to work.

We may do it this way. Picking one day can make it difficult for some to attend. This is also something where people will want to get up close to see exactly what I'm talking about. since I'm here all the time we can do this over a few weekends. Thay way people won't be restricted to one specific day.
