I'm going to start rebuild my dock fingers this weekend or next and need some foam floatation. I will pay if it is priced decently. Also if anyone has built a dock recently did you use corner brackets and inside corner brackets. They seem to be very pricey at around 60 bucks per corner.

There are certain marshes like the nw side of the Brigantine bridge where that stuff collects in quantity. Im sure somewhere around Sea Isle its just hiding in the bullrushes for the taking. Yes hardware for everything is expensive. Go to a junkyard and see what you can find.

Yes but normally that stuff is pretty beat up. I was hoping someone had some extra laying around that they wanted to sell. Anything to help keep the cost down. Two 21ft dock fingers are going to be around 800 bucks. One was rebuilt before we moved in but he did not use any brackets. Just nailed everything together. It will most likely rack in few yrs..

The guy that built ours used 4X4's as the inside bracket. He through bolted them and they are over 20 years old and still going strong.:)

Thanks for the ideia. Thats how I did it. Still cost a bit over $700 for one dock finger and we reused the old trex decking and a few brackets. Plus I went to Lowes in Delaware for the lumber and most of the h/w. Still have one more to do.
