Sorry fellows I had to work couldn't make this weeks meeting.
can you give me a run down on what happened?

fshrwmn, The meeting was basicly a formality to vote the way they had decided at the last meeting on the Brant Drive issue. The main reason I attended was to make sure there were no surprises due to the fact that they said at the last meeting they were going to also vote on the entire beach resolution for the upcoming season. That didn't happen so I guess we have to keep a watchdog there to make sure they don't add some wording to push us off the jetty area. As things stand right now nothing has changed and we are still able to fish where we always have but there's no doubt in my mind that the first time a surfer goes under a line we will be under attack again. I just hope that nobody is stupid enough to throw a sinker at someone in the water no matter who was there first!! Phil

This was the kind of stuff that got all of this started in the first place. At this point just one bad apple doing something like that could ruin it out there for everybody. Just a thought.

Thanks Phil, after I posted I jumped over to AC and read what you wrote there so I had my answer.
This whole thing is just very sad.
I love listening to the stories My mother tells about fishing with her father when she was little.Taken bed rolls and building a fire to keep warm and to eat.Re doing the old Ford so they could take it on the beach. Burying the sack of boiled potatos in the sand till they were ready to heat up with the days catch. Times are changing sure but all of a sudden they seem to be changing way to quickly. Surf fishing is a privlage I was born with..runs in blood. It just seems so sad to me that it has become such a political mess. My fear is for the next generation of surf fisher people. My hopes are that in the near future the "FAD" of driving big 4x4 everywhere will wear off and all the " weekenders will go back to driving their little road only sports cars. Leave the off roading to those of us that have been doing it all our lives
in pursuit of our....how do i say it.....Blood rights to surf fish.

Yea Ghost, lets hook up. I have tryed eyeing for you before down the beach, But everytime I think I see ya....then I don't :D
I have a buddy that does alot of kayak fishin'. he has a Lorain (sp) hooked up to the Kayak. anyway he said in Dec he was crusin' round the back Islands and he said if he saw one he saw thousands of bass just lieing around. wouldn't bite on anything but they were there.So with any luck our spring run will be a nice one with all those hungry big bass coming out for a bite.
are we itchin' to be fishin' yet????
