I have the Emblem and I have the Tica. The Tica is far better in my opinion.

Would the 4500 be able to fit on a 7'?

The 2500's may be a little on the small side but will work great on a lighter rod. the 3000's & 3500's fit great. The problem is the 4500 is the smallest they make in this reel. I think this reel will fit a 8'-9' plugging rod good. jmho

I just got mine in. Nice reel! I can't wait to spoool it up and try it! I put it on a 9' Tica. It's a little on the big side but will work fine! I hope it works OK on your 8' Tica!

I just checked the "Bargain Cave" and the reel is now on sale for $49.99. Should have waited a week, but maybe I'll just buy another.

She's young! She has a lot of time to get over me! Maybe I'll buy another reel off of her. That's the least I can do! I hope there's some left by the time my Gift Certificate comes in!

How could you be so hard on the poor girl? I will comfort her in her time of need. :D

i am thinking of getting one of these reels. Would the 4500 be good for throwing lures off the beach or would i better off using it for bait? How would the 5000 and 5500 work best as well....Thanks in advance....Kevin

Hey guys, thanks for the heads up. I just got off the phone with Cabelas, and a new 5500 reel is on the way for only $35.00. No problem with the money difference from the other reel. Can't have too many reels hanging around!!!!!!!!

The 4500 is most likley good for throwing
weights between 1-3oz, whether its lures or
bait rigs...I think Bruce is putting it on
a 9'rod...The 5000 & 5500 is better suited
for a 10-11' rod rated for weights between
3-6oz....Either Way It Seems to be a Light
Reel,weighing in around 20-22oz's,,,Nice and
Light for easy Casts...

went with the 4500, i forgot i had a $20 rebate which was about to expire, so this wasnt a bad deal for $36.94. ! I have had a daiwa bg20 for 5 years and havent had any problems witht that so i hope this is just as good.

I don't do much surf fishing, mainly because I don't have the right gear. Well thats going to change now. I just ordered mine today. I picked up the 5500 model. The 6500 is sold out.

I just had my 5500 delivered today.
I matched it up with a Daiwa 10'stick and is
just perfect, it could even go on a 11 footer
nicely if I wanted to...
