Your in the wrong area for good surf fishing. Head to North jersey and throw some live bunker. There are alot of really nice fish being caught up there.

Firedude- Welcome to the barn. The surf climate has changed in Cape May over the years but there are several spots that are worth a shot if you're going to be in town. Poverty beach with the long stick (bloods or clams) for bass. Cold Spring inlet from the WW side for toug, trout and bass. The convent jetty and Alexander Ave. jetty out at the point. Or the canal jetty out at Higbees beach. Float bloods, bucktail or through pink fin-S. It's worth a shot. Stop in at one of the tackle shops that support this board and you'll get the straight poop. Good luck.

I was at the convent jetty this past monday and tuesday (6/7-8) and tried everything from floating bloods to bucktails. My buddy Steve Segerin who was with me caught a nice 5 pound trout and a couple of throw back bass. We have been fishing the incoming tides but the bite has been sporadic at best.
