I'm going to try to go out on a headboat for striper tomorrow. Has Belmar or Cape May been better this week?
Thanks,
JD
JD the best fishing recently has been in the IBSP and LBI areas, You might want to think Brielle or Barnegat. If they dont work for you my next choice would be Belmar. Just my 2 cents. Check the websites of the boats you were thinking about and read their reports or give them a call.
Also if its in your budget check out some open boats for a couple dollars more.

def go north point/belmar/barnegat, much better odds of catching a striper from a party boat

I agree .There have been good reports the last couple of days out of Manasquan and Shark River Inlets . The fish have been closer to home .

First report I read today from a party boat that targeted bass was that it was a tough day, handful of shorts and some bluefish. He fished the same area he caught them good the past 2 days but the bait was gone.
I'm hitting a party boat out of Belmar tomorrow fro stripers that's running from 6 AM-3 PM.

I would drive to Barnegat and fish a boat out of there. That's where all the Belmar boats are heading anyway. I fished a private boat out of Belmar yesterday and we ran all the way to BI. You might as well drive there and you will have at least extra 2 hours fishing time. Just a thought, I'm fishing my boat out of LEI in the AM, hopefully there's some bigger fish still around.

Went out of Barnaget this morning. Boat picked up a few fish but I carried the skunk home. Mostly small fish just above the limit.
