Does anybody know if the ice is getting close to thick enough for a ice fishing run at Collin's Cove?
Thanks

Haven't fished there in years, but it was always a great way to spend a winter day. :D With this second cold front coming in, it should be getting safe.

Some ice is starting to build on the Mullica Rv.
But Not Safe Yet at Collins Cove..
I did get a report from a SodBank Fishermen Fishing there the other day.Using Live Grass
Shrimp he had over 40 White Perch and 12 Big Ones.
He also hooked and released a couple of small stripers...

The cove is not even close to being frozen over. There is ice extending out maybe 12' - 15' foot from the banks, but that is it. This report is valid as of 9 AM this morning when I drove by. With a prediction of 40's for later this week and the days already getting longer, we're gonna need one heck of a cold spell for her to freeze this year.

It's not that I don't want the cove to freeze, but.

Come on SPRING...

Went out yesterday. caught 30 perch in about 45 minutes. There was a small blitz at the top of the tide. can't go today unless I can find a babysitter(bummer). I had my twin 4 yr olds and they had a blast. Plenty of ice out there.

Traveling up Parkway Saturday afternoon 1/28. As we crossed the Mullica looked like about 15-20 ice fishermen in Collins Cove. Also - a friend reported from Patcong Creek last week - good perch fishing!

Where can one access or fish Patcong creek? Is the best fishing from a boat, or are there good land fishing spots???? Thanks----Mike

Ditto to what Rockdoc said, any info on Patcong creek would be appreciated. It's so close, but I've never tried it. I'd gladly swap a spot or two on the Egg Harbor River, but most of you guys probably know them already anyway.

What is the prefered bait for white perch. I've heard grass shrimp & small minnows are good. Is there any place closer than Scotts Bait & Tackle that has live bait at this time if I wanted to fish Patcong Creek?

I don't believe anybody around the SP/OC area
has them, most shops are closed. You might want
to check over at Fin-Atics in OC..
Another Place To Check Would Be
Absecon Bay Sportsman Center...
