I would never vote
Dance in because I know he is only fishing private lakes in his shows. No doubt he is a good tournament fisherman but he is shady. Roland martin is nothing but a salesman. He anoys me. Rick Clunn is a hard nosed angler who doesn't have much to say and he gets the job done. My vote is For Vandam. He is young and full of energy. He knows how to deal with pressure and catch fish everywhere.

I reallydon'tlike him, he's just an a*****e, but I think I'd definitely have to say Roland Martin. All the tourney wins and AOY's will not be matched for a long time. He's also done a lot for the sport too with his shows. He was just on so much and got exposure to the sport. There's so many different things to consider with this greatest angler thing though. I don't think there's a way to pick it. I think the only way would be to have a few different categories. Although I don'tlike him, I'd have to say if there was one that's the "greatest angler" it would be Martin for my pick.
I think I'd have to say Denny Brauer is my favorite pro now. He's still places well a lot and I just absolutely love watching shows that he does. I think he teaches so much more than anyone on another bass show, I just learn a lot more watching him than anyone else. Just my two cents for anyone that cares

Fish Fishburn, or the Dwarf from "Dwarf goes Fishing" Noone else has ever caught they're own belt loop on the back-cast and flipped themselves over like him

Al Linder, he's not a bassmaster but could be if he wanted to.

In terms of lifetime achievement, I think it's Clunn or Martin, but VanDam is probably the best out there right now, and closing in fast. His numbers are pretty amazing--I think I saw in Bassmaster that he's cashed in 150 out of 170 tournaments, and he's won about $2.5 mil. Throw in a couple of classic titles and three or four AOYs, and he's tough to beat. As far as who I pull for, I've always liked Larry Nixon, though I'm not sure if he fishes competitively anymore. I used to enjoy his fishing show--straightforward info without all the huffin and puffin. And I met him at a BASS seminar and he seemed pretty cool. I don't know how he's done lately, but I thought Aaron Martens had a shot to be a real good one.:)
