Bass boat...ten rods on the deck...know everything about each seasons presentations...patterns...bass habits....artificials only...tournys...federation members....???????

I know I used to be into it big time. I know Megabites was a hardcore basser. We both had Nitro Bass Boats...all the gear. Anyone else??

I hope to get some good talk on here from guys that are in tournys or in a federation club. Someone that really knows their sheet ;)

Im gonna get a hold of a few guys soon and get something going. I have been thinking about doing some more bassing this year.

Hip,

I would really like to get together with you and fish. I know you can show me some good stuff. I have been doing more and more freshwater bassing the last two years, and most of my success has come from trial and error. I would love to have some more proven stradegies.

I have sold my Nitro and my bro sold his tracker. I have a 14 jon boat rigged that we can use. Actually its my girls dads but he wont mind. Get in touch with me mid march...ice-out and we will go.

That is what I primarily did until I got hooked by the striper. I get out about 3-4 times a week rain/shine and fish as they say here on the barn the sweet water.I have a ton of S.J. Hogs to post but have to scan them first, my biggest last year was 6.2lbs on the berkely digy. The fish came on a hart double prop buzz bait 6Am on a shallow wind blown point. I hope the same rules for this forum apply as far as spot posting. I'm not a greedy angler but freshwater is definately more sensitive to pressure.

My brother is a bass maniac - both stried and fresh.

He has a Stratos up in NH. Sweet ride - he's got alot of equip. but he's not as crazy as most guys.

Darrin:
You said it! Once I got into those pin-striped largemouth, I didn't do much freshwater anymore ;) . I want to get back into fresh, though. I used to be a super hardcore LMB'er. I still get my license every year, though it's been more for winter trouting than anything.

NJVBass:
Yeah, spot posting for freshwater can be hazardous. For saltwater, I really don't care as those fish move around so much anyway. But freshwater spots are tried and true almost all the time. The same fish will be there time after time. I'd give general lake or pond names, but not specific areas, unless by PM or email.

NJVBASS, I still go out sometimes and I cant believe the pressure these lakes get compared to when I fished hard in the fresh...say 3 years ago. Its really blowing up. We will keep the spots to a minimum ;)

With this new fresh water forum and all the LMBers around, I wouldn't mind if someone would try and put together a couple small friendly tournys. Nothing too big or expensive but competitive and maybe a few bucks to win.......Anyone else interested....I've got a couple ideas.

Frogzillas get their use ;)

Bunka Chunka...SWEET!!!!!! Champion boats are great.

Gilly, Id be down with that. We used to have lure tournaments. Put a few lures in the pile...winner takes all. Good stuff...not rejects..LOL

I was thinking on the lines of maybe sundays or weekday evenings. I live in Gloucester county and don't know how far away everyone else is. Weekends I can travel anywhere. Weeknights I am limited because of work. Plus something along the lines of ten bucks a person or Twenty a boat....Not looking to get 100 people but ten or fifteen boats would be great.

Two bass limit. Must be kept alive. Twenty bucks for big bass and winning boat takes the rest of the pot. Or no big bass since the boat with the big bass would probably have the whole deal. Let me know what y'all think. Maybe we can get something started....
Anyone interested just email me...

I would definitely be interested in fishing some friendly tournaments. I was looking at getting the NJ licese the other day. Pretty affordable for out of state residence compared to PA. I just need a boat to jump on and I'm in. Plus, I am a teacher so I have loads of time in the summer.

Gilly I would also be interested but don't think my 9 year old fishing partner would let me compete without him. Used to be a hardcore basser in the late 80's one year fished 57 days consecutive. Enjoyed the tournaments also but now fish fresh 4 evenings a week and salt the other three nights.

Bill that would be great to get the son inolved. It would maybe get him interested in tournament fishing a bit too. I know a lot of kids going through school arn't the top athletes in their class and fishing would give kids a great extra-ciricular activity to keep them out of trouble. I would like to see schools put together some fishing tournaments for their kids. Besides that it would be nice to go fishing with dad and bring back some spending money. can you imagine how he would feel to beat a bunch of grown ups in something.

I am/was a hardcore basser, amazing how kids change that.

I used to fish 15 tournaments a year, now I barely get to one. Not saying it is a bad thing though. Still have my 10 rods on deck and still go to Canada every year. Son started coming up last year.

This year I plan to spend more time fishing with the kids, so I am selling my Tracker Bass Boat in favor of a Deeper V boat.

Also plan to join Laurel Lake this year, just outside of Millville. Any one else a member there??

If you are looking for a 17 ft bass boat for under $4000 holler at me too.

John

Yup did the BASS tournys in pa and jersey, red man , grand national, best finish i had was 2nd in jersey for the season, no state team was from pennsy and wasn't in a club from jersey,,,that sucked.that year rick sniderite, or something like that won first.
And the hudson river is the best undeer fished fishery i know....fished a club tour there once..my rider beat me by 2 pounds...he had 29 pounds for 2 days..i had 27...now theres some nice fisies.

Yeah Brandnewboat I must of competed against you at one time or another. The same thing happened to my friend in the NJ Fed he finished in the Top six ,but never made the team because he wasnt in a Club.Bummer.Hey Bill Couch I would be fishing with my 10yr old son also.He thinks he's hot sheet up on the front deck using the foot control. He catches some nice fish it would definately be a learning expierience for any young angler,HRL

Okay guys I'm definately in, but still not going to say anything to my son just yet. After watching him play soccer, baseball, wrestling and hockey and seeing how competitave he is I think I will wait to tell him. He won't let me sleep knowing that he has a chance at a little cash while he fishes. His favorite saying when we get home is to tell mom that he caught the biggest and the most. Last year he caught two slot fish on his own while fishing with me one 25" and one 27".

brandnewboat I know I haven,t fished hopatcong but did catch a 6.5lb in a tournament on a lake in Boredentown but I think it was Mercer lake.

My son and I have a 20 ft Stratos and a 16 ft fisher rigged for bass fishing. We usually have 10-15 rods rigged and laid out all over the deck. As for tournys, there are a few clubs that hold open tournaments with very small entry fees. They are for fun, not much money won, but everyone has a good time. E-mail me if anyone wants to know more!

I have been posting this sort of thing in just about every forum, interestingly no takers

It's not hard to do actually

Show the fish with a USA Today front page photo, ruler in hand. That weeds out liers
