I've never used any of them (Castalic comes to mind) - in freshwater compounds with stripers I could see tossing a trout bait

- but for saltwater I think bunker, silversides, anchovies, whatever they are on - match the hatch.

Im sure bass eat searun trout but I bet that is a small percentage of their diet.

They would work in any lake that stocks trout. I used them in a small local stocked pon and caught some decent bass.

Yes they do work in NJ for LMBass.I caught a real pig she went about 7lbs in Greenwich Lake.It was during trout season and she slammed it.It was a Castaic 7"Rainbow.Caught five more between 3-5 lbs that day.It was during the Catch and Release season.I wish someone would throw a early March tourney on a Fall Trout Stocked Lake.It would be a Awesome Weigh-In.HRL
