Anyone interested in possibly getting together some local bass tournaments please let me know. I am thinking either weekday evenings or sundays. Nothing major mostly for fun. No age limits. Something around 20$ per boat or less. I live in South Jersey and am thinking lakes within 30 miles or so. Weekends are more convienient to travel. Anyone interested in helping with ideas or wanting to participate just let me know. Hopeing to have about 10 boats or so at each event......Not looking for every week unless everyone wants that....AGAIN THIS IS MOSTLY FOR FUN. Noone will be punished for not makeing an event or bringing in a person not signed up. I was planning to just work with a few core guys and let everyone know as things progress. ALL AGES WOLCOME AND ENCURAGED. Dad and son teams or dad and doughter or moms and kids would be even better. Well maybe not since my girl always kicks my but in fishing when she comes....So far I know of half a dozen or so who said they are in....

I would definitely like to join in on these tournaments, but I do not have a boat. If anyone is willing to let me ride along, I am all for it.

No boat is fine. I am sure there will be someone willing to take on a partner. Heck I may be needing a parter. As of right now I am rideing solo. This idea is only two or three days old though. I would like to have something ready to have a better idea of things by march 1. I don't want to screw up anyones striper season either.

Gill21 I'm in but my boats under construction?
Anyone have any ideas for how I should go about fixing leaky rivets.

I used caulk I use for hanging sideing. It's called QUAD. I used the Quad clear. I is great stuff. It is like liquid rubber and adheres to everything. Used it for about 20 or so trips and never had a drop of water through the hole. I know Bill Wahl Supply carrys it ans Supirior supply. Either one is close to you I believe.

I'd be interested. My only problem is my club has tourneys almost every weekend so I might not be able to make very many of these. My 14' is small but I'd be ok with a non'boater in the back. With size restrictions of course. lol

It's great for me to finally see the freshwater forum up now. I've been a member since the early days of the barn but don't get to fish the salt enough to beableto help many people out. I think I'll be able to help out a lot more with the freshwater forum, I bass fish just about every day I'm not working from late Feb through November.

Oh and njvbass, I saw you have leaky rivets, there's a product I've been hearing about called Gluvit that's supposed to be very good. I believe it brushes on very easily, but haven't used it myself.

I am definately interested. I am in the process of moving back to the area so it would be in mid May or so before I would be ready. I do have a boat and have no problem taking a rider....LA

I'm in. Will you have any rules against Fly Fishing in the tournies? I really wanna win a tourny on the Fly Rod against conventional tackle. But if not, I'm still in.

Bunka...I am with you on the 6 man team for the Federation....I would definately be interested in that. If we could fish on Sunday's that would be even better. I will be working alot of Saturday's when I first move back.By the way I sent you an e-mail not sure if you got it...
Stonefly, I think a fly rod is considered rod and reel for tournaments, If I recall there was a flyfisherman at a Western Everstart Tournament this year....LA

Gilly,
Hi my name is Tom. I am excited to see that the barn has finally gotten a freshwater forum as well. I am very interested in doing all of the above. I am a die hard fisherman and want to go all out this year. I have a 12' polar kraft with everything in it. 7.5 Johnson, depth/fishfinder, rod holders/ storage compartment, swivel pedistol seats, 3 trolling motors ( 1 with foot pedal on front, and 2 in the back), bilge pump and more!!I am ready to go. Please let me know if interested, email me at sbikerider@yahoo.com when you get a minute. Thanks.

Stonefly you can use and method you like as long as there is no live bait. That would really be braginf right to win a tournament with a fly rod....

Parvin is definately one of the lakes I had in mind. It's pretty big and has good bass in there. I like rainbow also. I think the last time I fished there it was prvate though....There is a great bass population in there.

11 guys are on the list. That's plenty. We can hit some smaller lakes and get away from a lot of the pressure, plus its not the same lakes every time you fish a tournament. I'm also in a club that fishes tournaments every week in the open season. Our tournaments are $10 and we allow guests for an additional $10. Might even be an extra $5 not 10, not sure. But if you win, it's 60/40 split for 1st/2nd, 100% payout and the guests can win the full amount. If anyone's interested, here's a link to our sched. Cool looks like some new interest...I'm working on it. Just really pressed for time right now I got a dead line on a house I am remodeling. Killing my fishing time and wallet. ten grand over budget. I'll try and have an unoficial schedule by this weekend.

I would love to be in live in Sicklerville have a boat and the skill to catch plenty of fish please put me on the list. I am off every weekend and the wife will let me out as long as I can walk when I get home. Iwas just at Malaga 2 weeks ago and there was about 14 boats on the water in a tournament. I have been looking for aq small tournament to get in to see if I am as good as I think I am LOL.

Guys I'm sorry to get everyone fired up to get this going. I kinda had a rough go of things when I wanted to get this going. First I was arranging my wedding , then my grandad died, then shortly later my grandmom died, two weeks before the wedding,. I was liveing with her to keep her company after grandad. Worst feeling in the world to find her in the morning......But anyway, Life has taken me on a rolercoaster and I am moveing to NC in a couple weeks. Clamboni if you want to get it going I think you will have a good turnout. It hasn't been up untill this past month that I have been able to fish regularly and I have been concentrating in the surf......Good luck guys....

Gilly, very sorry to hear that. I can definitely understand this being the last of your concerns. I wish you good luck.
