Was wondering how many of you tie your own flies for trout? I wouldn't mind exchanging some of my productive flies for a few of other members. Just an idea wasn't sure if anyone would be interested, would pass the time until opening day.

I tie my own, as soon as I finish tying to pay off my super bowl bets, I'll start tying to replenish my box. There's about a half dozen patterns I use consistently, four surface and two nymphs. I'd be game to swap some flies once I start filling my own box.

Whooly buggers and Pheasant tails. That's about all I have the stomach (and eyesight) to tie for freshwater anymore! smile.gif

I just started tying my own flies about a year ago. I have gotten better at it (no lessons, only self taught) but allot of my early work really hasnt been sea worthy.
I tried allot of different flies for allot of fresh water species.Like i said i have been getting better and i am starting to use mine more than store bought ones.

Pheasant feathers are primo #1 in freshwater patterns. Just about every feather type can be used for something.
