left thew house at 2:00 pm for some possible bass action got to my hole about 3:30 and started one of the best first outing's I've had yet I got 18 largemouth up to 4 lbs. most of wich were nice 2.5 lb chunks when I got back to the house my cuz. was there telling me he caught 68 crappie so I grabbed my other rod an got about 25 of them give or take a few :rolleyes: now the itch was scratched I can go for the striped ones with patience.

Hour and a half travel time, sounds like it was worth the effort. Live bait or artificials? Bill

wasn't the drive it was the walk deep into a reedbed with no trail :rolleyes: but yes quite worth it.I've got them in this spot as early as feb. 9 th a few years ago these fish winter there then leave when the carp start to get active.
