Striper run..how long will it last?

I am from out of state but visit Lovladies, LBI every year in July. We usually go durint the third or fourth week of July, but this year we will be there around the 4th. The smaller weakies and snapper blues r always plentiful when I come visit. And I usually manage to get at least 1 or 2 striper from the surf. I was wondering when the striper run started this year and how long it is going to run?? (i am hoping to run into a few big striped fellows when I am there the first week in July) I know that no one knows for sure...so I am just asking for an educated guess. I know the run depnds on water temperature, amount of bait around, when the run started, and so many other variables. Also...will the big blues be offshore by the first week in July as usual or will I have a chance at a few of them??

If the baits there, the stripers will be there.
If the water gets warm ,the bait will leave.
You can try the sod banks at night on poppers.

Matt, RJG is right. if the bunker stay so will the bass. I do not think the hot bite will be here in july but ya never know. by that time the bite has go to a nocturnal thing. if your on the beach(where your staying) last light and first light should produce a fish or two for ya. casting artificials along the jettys at those times will produce a few bass for ya im sure if ya put the time in. when it gets close when your comin to NJ shoot me an email and i will try to point ya in the right direction. have ya tried for kingfish? if not you'll love em. small scrappy fighters who just might be the best tastin critter along the beaches at those times.

Surfrat.....thanx to both u and RJG.,..I figured the availability of the stripers depedended on whether the bait was there or not. And Yah I have caugth some kingfish....they are a lotta fun on light outfits and are very good to eat! And said around the time I am comin down I coudl email u?? whats ur email address...??
