What brand and size braid line do you recommend for a Penn 975LD for fluke, stripers and maybe taug.

I have my 975LD setup with 300yds 50lb solid braid (I use Jerry Brown but Tuf Line or Power Pro are #2 choices) with 25ft of 20-25lb mono on top. Just about fills the spool.
The 50lb is just personal preference. I dont like anything smaller because of the cutting ability, and when your trying to get un-stuck off a wreck or bottom, it gets a little dangerous. Also, the 50lb gives you the ability to use it as an ultra-light tuna stick if the chunk bite goes wide open. Put it on a 40lb stick with short mono, hammer the drag, and hang on!

CJ, I would recommend from 30lb. to 50lb. braid for your application. I use a 975 for toggin' and fish 50lb. Stren Superbraid. It works very well and gives you some extra muscle over 30lb. to horse a slob tog off the piece. For wreck fishing and abrasion resistance, I run a 10ft. length of mono on the end of the braid with a uni to uni knot. Have fun!
