46" real fat, about 50 lbs, but not sure exactly because I couldn't find a big enough scale. I made a rough balance and it weighed more than my son(46lbs) It was the first BIG fish I ever caught, and I was not familiar enough w/ the area to find a tackle shop to weigh it. We took some good pics and cut it up for dinner.

The first four pics are 54,52,50,51 lbers and are all surf caught. The fifth picture is a 49Lber caught on a Danny Plug and an 18 lber, when we used to have a real fall run up here. The multi weigh in picture is of a couple 40s, high 30s and 20s all caught walking live bunker down the beach in Loveladies one Sept day during a mullet run..haha! The superimposed picture is the film got stuck in my camera on the last three shots of the head of a 50lber and other fish I caught in LBI a while back. That's my good luck photo.

I think you beat The Long Island Greek , maybe you should write books
Look out, here comes the jealousy
And I got to say from the surf is incredibly admirable. It's a lot harder and less predictable. You obviously know your stuff
Over how many years of fishing did you accomplish that??
How often do you fish??

A 50", 50lb caught and released at the mouth of Raccoon Creek in March of '98. Used a hand scale that registered 50 lbs and pegged the needle - may have been heavier but who the hell cares.

Last summer i worked on a boat out of Hampton Bays, NY and since we were only 20 miles from montauk we spent alot of time bass fishing when we were not offshore. In September and October we fished montauk 19 days and caught 9 over 40 pounds and 3 over 50 pounds. A few were caught on bunker heads but the rest were caught on 3 foot red tubes trolled on wire line.
