Beach Bass

Took a ride to the closest beach from my house ( 5 miles) at daybreak today. Bass fishing has been slow the last three days. To my surprise, bass had bunker pinned on the beach. Grabbed a rod, snagged a bunker, and ended up with a 36 lb striped bass. They were out of range by the time I landed the fish.

I'm starting a big job that will tie me up for a month. Gonna try to sneak a mid week trip in before i sink my teeth into this project.
It will probably be my last shot at the biguns till the fall.

Craig, this year is starting to remind me of way back when we had small schools of bunker through the summer. We also had huge bass through mid August from the jetties swimming live bunker.
