Dirtdigger and I went out to one of our Local haunts and caught a little early action..Last 2 hours of the tide we caught 14 Linesiders between the 2 of us..All of the fish were 18 to 23 1/2 inches and we couldnt wipe the smile off our faces..Bloodworms were the bait of choice even though they're $12 a dozen..It's gonna be a great season..

I got the same report from Canyon Caster who hit the Delaware River. He nailed some bigg'ns in the last couple hours of the outgoing tide. Also, he paid somewhere in the neighbor of $9 - $10 a dozen for bloods.

Correction....$7.00 a dozen at our local tackle shop. $9.50 at Dicks and the price gets higher as you get closer to the shore.

$1.00 a worm!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah right. I don't think you could call half of what you get in a bag of blood worms a worm. There are about 4 decent worms and the rest are usually little things that are too skinny to thread on the hook. I thought $6.00 a dozen was high. Wow!!!

12 bucks a dozen, I thought I was paying a bit much at $7. I'll be honest too There is usually 8 really good ones and he throwes a couple extra if the rest are small....

Berkley Gulp worms guys - extend that bloodworm supply. Buy the ones in the glass jars (more juice). Earthworm or Fire red. All natural ingrediants. 1/2 piece of the real thing, 2 Gulp worms.

As Flattop mentioned ,I went out twice yesterday 10am-2:30pm ,nothing to report at that time , not 1 bite , tide was low saw birds diving 1/4 mile south of me about 100-150 yds off land , packed it up and went home ... ate dinner then Headed back out again at 6:30pm - 10pm fished the incoming to the out going tides , nothing for 2 1/2 hrs then other anglers there started catching 1 here 1 there , then it was my turn 36, 30,22, all at the start of outgoing that was around 9:15- 9:45pm. no wind clear skies , beautiful night .. the river is starting but don't expect to light the world on fire yet ... you will have to put in some time ... Good Luck...

If you guys don't buy them at $12 a dozen maybe the price would come down or they would end up eating them. I can get them at $7.00 a dozen.
It is really looking good with the striper fishing. Plenty of stripers in the bay and river. All we need is a few nice mild days and all heck will brake loose. The river is loaded with stripers and some big perch.
What I can't figure out is how all these stripers got by the Cape May gate. Those boys must of let some through.

If you guys want to read about who's getting rich off of Blood Worms, then go to this Site: www.mainebait.com/pressreleases.html (http://www.mainebait.com/pressreleases.html)
If the State of Maine get involved in this, you may see the price of worms go much higher than 12.00/Dz. Cheapest price I have found on worms is Creek Keepers in Blackwood, he is charging 6.00/Dz as of last week. My friends and I have reduced our cost by buying a flat. I believe a flat holds 11 Dz worked out to be about 4.50/Dz that way.

But being that it's St.Patty's Day you may have to jog my memory with a few pints and a couple drinks that come in those little 1 oz glasses. ;) :D
