quote

Imagine reaching for an apple on a tree and having your hand suddenly impaled by a metal hook that drags you?the whole weight of your body pulling on that one hand?out of the air and into an atmosphere in which you cannot breathe. This is what fish experience when they are hooked for ?sport.?

Many people grow up fishing without ever considering the terror and suffering that fish endure when they?re impaled by a hook and pulled out of the water. Recreational anglers rarely stop to contemplate that fish are complex and intelligent individuals. In fact, if anglers treated cats, dogs, cows, or pigs the way they treat fish, they would be thrown in prison on charges of cruelty to animals.

Why not let fish enjoy the beautiful day, too, by leaving your fishing gear at home? Click here for more ways to help fish.

Good God! These people really need to be put on another planet far far away.

Did anyone else here that high ranking members of PETA were put on the Terrorist list?

Give me the beef!

I like the part where they call fish "complex and intelligent individuals" Of course they are complex and intelligent individuals when you compare them to the average PETA member.

After reading that I'm gonna sell all my equipment on ebay......oh wait, then someone else might use it to harm other little cuddly fishies. No I'm gonna burn it all in the street.

I'm even gonna become a vegitarian!!!!!

This from the same people who claimed to be rescuing cats and dogs from shelters only to find them in a grocery store dumpster after they euphenized (sp) them!!

PETA = People Eating Tasty Animals (this is the only PETA I apply to!)

Maybe someone should tell P.E.T.A. that they would have gotten a better hookset on that dog with a circle hook smile.gif

Give me the beef! Yes there is a guy who is an Eco-Terrorist, his group burn down the ski lodges in Vail.

He is not directly associated with PETA, But PETA publicly approved of his actions saying he was a hero. This was on the Penn and Teller Showtime special called B.S.

PETA will be losing their nonprofit status very soon. We as Americans should not tolerate their propaganda. Its time to put these bastards out of business. And trust me its a business.

Thats one of the down sides of free speech. You've got these ridiculous knuckle head tree-hugging fruit loops going around preaching this garbage! They've been trying to ruin our hunting rights and now they want fishing stopped.
What a bunch of dopes. Quit wasting your time.

"Get the gaff before that dog gets off"! :D

What is the difference between killing a fish or killing a carrot or a tomato? Every day, many things must die so that other things can go on living. This is the way of nature, which, despite what many would say, we are participants in, not observers of.

You know....fishing really does hurt! When I cannot get out to fish it hurts real bad.
