Plugs at night

What plugs or poppers are good at night and does color matter.

Black and purple, Pink, and white are my top choices but usually throw b+p in the back and pink in the front. I dont throw poppers that often at night anymore. I used to do good on all colors as far as poppers go.

I like a black/purple needlefish. Reeled in slow so its just below the surface and makes a nice V wake.

I'm another one to stick to the dark lures at night..Another vote for Black/Purple patterns.

I have found that as far as poppers go, A blue over white or black over white is a good pattern. Ive also had success with all black, just not as much as the blue over white. Go for a smack it jr or knuckle head probably my 2 favorite poppers, but gibbs makes good ones too that cast further. Unfortunately I dont own any of those good lookin wooden swimmers yet :rolleyes:

Thanks for the feed back guys, the black/purple is out fishing all black and I think I will invest in some of those dark poppers ( love seeing those stripers hit poppers)

I am somewhat convinced that the purples are more effective because of the yellow eyes (vs red eyes).

Stick with lighter colors until it is fairly dark

MakeMeNuts tie a flouro leader with a drop loop for a teaser...I have been catching more bass on the teaser fly since they are currently chasing small bait fish. Yep, I rigged some of these RedGills This Year.

Those Red Gills make great teasers! The larger ones also work great alone.

As for colors at night I have a long list. Black, Purple, Purple and Black, Black and Purple, Black, Black, Purple, Purple and Black, Black and Purple, Prurple...... :rolleyes:

I like all black. Also have done well with all white at night for some reason! (Black Bomber) swam slowly across the surface!

I like Smack-it Jr. for the backwater poppin action at night...in the black model!
