Sunday's report went from 5-10kt to 10-15kt since yesterday. It always seems to get better the closer you get to the planned trip  . The wave heights are supposed to be 4 feet at the mouth of the Bay. The rips could be ugly. Oh well. We'll have to see and be ready for plan B (back bays). Anyone else going out Sunday morning?

Oh yeah - I know 10-15 insn't exactly a blow out, but it's the start of NOAA reports getting worse as the days go by.

IF IT IS 10 TO 15 YOU WILL BE FINE IN THE RIPS.BUT ALWAYS KEEP A EYE ON THE BIG RIP.SOMETIMES YOU ONLY GET TO MAKE ONE MISTAKE THERE.YOU WILL CATCH.

Thanks for showing me the bright side. Could be worse - we could be in the Bahamas. It was blowing 34kt from the east yesterday there.

Scott, I know ya wanna fish as much as possible...we all do. When ya get blown out it's a real bummer  but it's not the end of the world by any means. There are tons of land based opportunities which can turn a "blow out" into a day to remember!

It's a easy as picking up a "spot" or two and having at it smile.gif

Yeah - we're going down there to play it by ear and be ready for anything. We have a plan B and could come up with a plan C if necessary. If the rips are nasty, we'll try the inlet and then fish the back. We'll have bucktails, mack, herring, clams, bloodworms and flounder chum. It will be great just to be out there again tongue.gif

As long as we are in the upper 60's on land the wind will blow. Warm land will suck the cool air off the water and get gustier as the day goes on. Once the two temps get closer the wind will be kinder, until tuner season then Capot N.O.A.A. will be at his finest :D ;) every time change will be a wind change also

I bought a a bunch of live clams yesterday and I have winter flounder chum. We'll get some bloods and herring and see what Mother Nature hands us. I think we'll head down the canal and take a peak out there. If it looks yucky, it's back to calmer waters. I think we should be able to pull some bass out from near the rocks at the inlet. Then we'll hit the back waters around the 50 cent bridge and the harbor. We'll just have to wait on The Rips. We have the whole month of April to worry about bass in The Rips. Come May, the weakies, flounder and blues will start moving in and there will be a lot more options  . It's only March and guys are already doing well. What more can you ask for (no w!nd would be nice  )

Come on Sun!
