Feeshed the Rips Sunday morning until about 10:30 and got one solid hit. We were jigging 1 oz white bucktails with mackerel. The wind started kicking so we headed to the DE Bay. It was getting to cold for a long boat ride so we went through the canal and fished by the 50 cent bridge (creek mouth) with bloods and clam. Had a few bites and buddy fought a fish for a little and it threw the hook. Saw some porpoises in the Cape May Inlet. It was COLD!!!

Did you see any other signs of life in the canal, like baitfish?

Not in the canal. In the rips we saw some sort of surface activity once. Not sure what it was but it looked a little like busting bait. It was only for a second or two, though. It looked and felt like winter out there. The sky was grey the whole time.
