I realize this topic must have been asked 100s of times, but since I am new to striper fishing I was wondering which tide is best to fish the rips for stripers?

Any tide you can get out there. You just have to fish and learn the terrain that attracts fish on both tides.
Look at it this way... If you had unlimited time you could pick your tide but you probably don't have unlimited time...
So go fish what you're given and learn how to adapt.
We all have our preference and the bite changes almost daily sometimes.
You just have to fish when you can and try to learn how to up your percentage of productive trips.
