Well we dunked the BUNKERHEAD today and I took her out for a nice little shake down run. smile.gif
When I got back to the dock to set lines vinny was waiting for me with his son ray to go fishing. :D
We screwd around for a little while and left the dock around 2:30 and went out to the delaware bay to try for some early spring stripers.
I got to my spot and had 50 degree water and depth was 15.
We set out the lines and within about 1/2 hr had the first bite.
after that is was non stop for about 3/4 of an hr  ,and then it slowed down to just a few fish every ten to twenty mins.
We were using fresh clam from chuck at off the hook.
we ended the day with 15 stripers and I missed about 7...because I am a little rusty from the long winter. redface.gif
Ray was high hook with 9 fish  vinny had 4 and I had two.....lol.
But what a day was had for the first trip of the season.most fish were on the small size
BUT we had 8 that were keepers And kept two that swallowed the hook.
Pics will follow monday and I have some sweet shots. smile.gif
I hope this helps a few of my fellow Barners in their Search of those early spring "resedent" Stripers.....Have at it the striper Fishing is outstanding RIGHT NOW !
And will only get bigger and better as the days go by,
Lets just hope That the water temps Keep climbing over the next few weeks,or at least stay the same !
PLEASE No prolonged cold spells to hold us up on the "LARGE" !!
Thanks,Captain Kobey Treadwel

The Bay is Really Alive,Bait all over the place. Both Bunker and herring smile.gif
My god the Birds we encounterd
We had some really nice fish in the Mix,But by no means any migratory Striper "YET" !No sea lice on any of these fiesty Fish.
The good news is The there are plent of resedent stripes to be had,And the Best is Yet to come ....
As Capt.Kobey said They gobbled up the clams,But it seemed they were keying in on the smaller Baits,We scaled down to small pieces of clam,3 baits per 1 clam,Really did the trick ;)
It seemed the bigger tha bait the faster they dropped it.....
My boy Ray had a great time and was on point,I think he only missed 1 fish smile.gif ,which wasnt the case for myself an Kobey
We both missed more than we caught redface.gif
All in All a great couple hrs on the bay,Snapping Stripers, and the Bunkerhead didnt skip a beat,She ran Great !!

Capt. kobey dropped us right on the fish, after just a little searching !!
They had lock jaw for the first 1/2 hr.,until We enticed um into feeding !
RAY SMOKED US like a cheap cigar :D
Chuck and Mary at "OFF THE HOOK BAIT AND TACKLE",hooked us up with some nice big fresh Surf Clams, and that did the trick !!!
