View Full Version : De-Hookers ???

Who uses a de-hooker tool for deep set hooks. I have always used my hands by rolling the hook out with my thumb and index finger, but the gill rakers do a job on my hands over time.

I'm looking for something fast and easy to get the fish back in the water as fast as possible, other than a circle hook.

These work pretty well for me (top pic).

But with most deep hookings (and mouth hookings for that matter), the hook has to go backwards before it'll come out and you do the least damage with barbless or crushed-barb hooks.

This works well, they come in two sizes. Bass Pro shops sell them.

De hookers are in full bloom in A.C ;)
We use the one Hookin Up posted,and rarely have a problem !of cource this is when the hook is reachable ...when it not we just cut the leader as far down as posable and return it as long as its not bleeding

I just hate when ya get a bass that swallowed it down to its arse,or gill hooked and already is a bleeding mess,when ya get it to the boat ...
